For the past 20 years, I have had the privilege of serving the students and families of St. James as a teacher. Education has given me a front-row seat to the challenges and opportunities facing rural Minnesota, and it has strengthened my belief that strong communities are built through service, responsibility, and working together.
My commitment to public service extends beyond the classroom. I served two years as Mayor of St. James and five years as a member of the Fairmont School Board, where I worked to bring people together, solve problems, and make decisions based on common sense rather than partisan politics.
Outside of public service, I am a father, grandfather, Christian, and lifelong supporter of our rural communities. For many years, I played town team baseball throughout District 21B, building friendships and connections across southern Minnesota that continue to shape my understanding of the people and values that make our region special.
Today, I am running as a Centrist Democrat because I believe Minnesota deserves leaders who focus on solutions instead of political extremes. Too often, the loudest voices dominate the conversation while everyday families, workers, farmers, small business owners, and seniors are left behind.
That’s why I am championing the Rural Advancement Deal:
Relief
Providing immediate help for working families, farmers, seniors, and small businesses facing rising costs and economic uncertainty.
Renewal
Investing in our communities through better infrastructure, stronger schools, workforce development, housing, healthcare access, and economic growth.
Responsibility
Ensuring government is accountable, fiscally responsible, and focused on delivering results rather than political theater.
I believe the future of Minnesota depends on restoring trust, finding common ground, and putting people ahead of politics. Together, we can move beyond division and build a stronger future for rural Minnesota and our entire state.
I would be honored to earn your support.
